‘He was really good and the best for Manchester United right now’ – Erling Haaland offers advice to Man Utd’s Rasmus Hojlund for his performance recently

Rasmus Hojlund is a fellow Scandinavian scorer and Manchester United rival. Erling Haaland told him to keep getting better after praising his first season in the Premier League.

With 18 goals, Haaland has scored 54 goals in 57 league games for Manchester City, making him the top scorer in the Premier League. However, Hojlund is starting to show signs of promise for Manchester United after a slow start.

The Danish player has scored in six straight Premier League games, breaking his duck on Christmas Day. United missed a big game without him on Sunday, the Etihad derby.

Hojlund’s first derby experience was at Old Trafford in October. He gave up a penalty when he was called for holding Rodri after a VAR review, but Haaland, the Norwegian striker, thought he played well. This season, the two strikers have been compared, even though their goalscoring records and expectations are different.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer tried to bring Haaland to Old Trafford in January 2020, but the scorer chose to move to Borussia Dortmund instead. Haaland was often linked with a move to United. He is now in charge of City’s bid for a third treble, but he knows that Hojlund will be under a lot of pressure at United as the player who is supposed to score goals.

“He had a rough start, but things got much better after that.” When we played him, he was great. He’s a good player, and like me, he’s young. He needs to keep improving, and as a striker for Manchester United, it’s his job to score goals, he said.
